Sony challenging YouTube

Starting Friday, April 27th Sony will be launching a video-sharing website - I couldn’t find any “real” information but I am guessing that the platform will be based on the Grouper video sharing site Sony acquired last year for $65 million. I’ll keep up on the news.

YouTube has been working in the last few months on getting the speed of their servers up and moving the users and videos into new databases. Well, it’s done and they did it while everything was up and running! Probably the servers are now based on Google technology so we can look forward to see which new features will be implemented.
